Day 3 🌿
Pose: Tree Pose - Vrksasana
Life is all about balance and what better way to find a little focus and calm than with a yoga posture. Tree pose is a wonderful pose that helps bring clarity to the mind, calm to the brain and focus. It allows you to withdraw from external stimulation as we focus inwards towards the breath, lightness within the heart and head, strength through the legs and a wonderful benefit of grounding.
Alignment: From a standing position, part the feet hip distance, gently lean the weight of your body into the right foot. Allow your left foot to rest on the inner right ankle, calf, or inner thigh (above or below the right knee). Slowly guide the left knee towards the left edge of the mat without twisting through the waist or hips. Finding balance and a soft gaze, as you inhale lift the heart and crown of the head up away from the hips, gentle engagement through the core. Listen to your breath, 10 long breaths both side please! If you want a challenge, close your eyes.
Benefits: Improves balance, focus, memory and co-ordination. Strengthens the legs, ankles and feet.
