🌿Boat Pose - Navasana

It's the final day of the 30 day yoga challenge!! What better way to end this month long journey with a foundation posture, that I would recommend practicing every single day. Boat pose, the arch nemesis, the posture that requires strength, flexibility, balance and focus all at the same time. Starting from seated with the knees bent gently hug the hands under the knees. As you inhale lift the heart and lengthen through the spine, as you exhale draw the belly away from the thighs. If we think of exploring this posture with layers this is where we build strength and CONTROL. This posture is all about strength from within, not just throwing yourself up there and hoping for the best! Layer one, keep core engaged and lift one foot, lower down, lift the other. Alternating without leaning or sinking within the spine. Layer two bring the shins parallel to the ceiling, hug the thighs together & lift the heart, explore by releasing the hands, again without sinking into the lower back. Layer three lengthen the legs, core tight, either hold with the hands or let go. This posture I would like you to hold for 1 minute, as I said, preferably every day!
