Chocolate & Bee Pollen Porridge

Happy Monday!

After lots of requests Im so happy to share this delicious sweet twist on my turmeric porridge recipe. It's SO GOOD! Also a great alternative to the cereal monsters out there (I used to be one of them!). My little boy absolutely loves this and what's great about it is as its homemade you know exactly what's in it and it's super healthy! The bee pollen is of course optional, the nuts and banana and even the porridge on its own can be enough!

Have fun with this one, I'm sure you'll love it!

INGREDIENTS:

x1 cup organic oats (we love Flahavan's!)

x2 cups cold water

1/4 cup maple syrup OR agave nectar

1/2 tsp turmeric (we use naturya's superblend)

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 large tbsp chocolate powder (Food thoughts)

TOPPING

x1 sliced ripe banana

x1 tsp bee pollen

x1 tbsp chopped nuts

RECIPE:

  1. Add the oats to a saucepan along with the cold water and stir though.

  2. Bring to a very low heat and stir through allowing the water and oats to mix. (This is a recipe not to be rushed!).

  3. Take your time to stir the mixture for 3-5 minutes. Once cooked take off the heat.

  4. Add the maple (or agave) syrup to the oat and stir well.

  5. Add the turmeric & cinnamon powders, and finally the chocolate powder.

  6. Add to your favourite dish!

  7. To serve chop your banana and add the chopped nuts and bee pollen.

  8. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy being creative with this recipes, don't forget the first meal of the day sets you up, so eat well, take your time, and enjoy!
