May Newsletter - Love Letter


MAY


May marks the transition from the tentative first steps of spring into a lush, sensory explosion. The quiet stirrings of April have transformed into a burst of colour and life; the woodland floors are hidden beneath bluebells, the hawthorn is heavy with blossom, and the air is alive with the hum of pollinators. This month, our yoga practice shifts from the effort of becoming to the joy of being. We aren't just opening our petals anymore, we are basking in the full, golden heat of the sun.

 

Radiating Vitality

We are now deep into the light half of the year. The initial push of the Equinox has settled into a steady, powerful hum of energy. In May, our practice is about radiance. We move with a sense of celebration, mirroring the meadow in full flower. Our sequences will prioritize expansive, joyful movements that celebrate our physical capability and the sheer vitality of the season. It is time to let your inner light shine as brightly as the midday sun.

 

Connecting Heart & Spirit (Anahata & Sahasrara)

If April was about finding our voice, May is about alignment and connection. We are moving from the expression of the self into a deeper harmony with the wild world around us. By focusing on the heart space and the crown, we bridge the gap between our physical roots and our highest aspirations. Our practice invites us to feel the interconnectedness of all things, realizing that the life force pulsing through the budding oak trees is the same breath moving through our lungs.

 

Harmonizing with the Earth's Pulse

May is the peak of the spring climb, a time of perfect balance where every hedge and garden is overflowing. We synchronize with this natural abundance by bringing a sense of effortless power to our mats. Our vinyasa becomes a moving meditation, not a struggle, but a dance. We are mimicking the resilience of the late-spring landscape: fully extended, vibrant, and unwavering in our strength, standing tall like the foxgloves reaching for the sky.




Gratitude for connecting

Over the end of April I shared some beautiful events and wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my beautiful friends who I share space alongside. Sally Smiles and I shared a deeply immersive offering Willow Tea ceremony and sound journey session which was so special, within these sessions we guide a journey that connects us to plants of the land, offering a shamanic drum journey and contiuing that into a sound scape. What I love the most about these sessions is the time we sit with the tea, in silence, quietly observing, moving through our journey and then listening to Sally read from her journal about the tree, like a gentle story the mind stirs and connects to the space as we learn and reconnect to share.


Crystal Frequencies with Lottie from Fern & Clay was very beautiful, Lottie is my 'crystal lady' who I get all of my gems from and I wanted to open the space where she could showcase her work and guidance. As a caring mother hen I opened the space for Lottie to spread her wings and teach us about how to connect with the stones, a deeper immersion rather than a crystal 101, we moved through deep awareness holding a chosen stone, feeling its energy & attuning to their messages. I offered guided meditation and a mini sound bath with my new crystal bowls and combined together is was nurturing morning with care and love.


To both Sally & Lottie, thank you for sitting along side me, supporting me and trusting me to offer my guidance with your own medicines, I am forever grateful x

Outdoor Yoga Sessions

Outdoor yoga classes are now available to book, enjoy bi-weekly yoga classes on a Friday morning at Arley Arboretum, we will meet at the cafe and walk through to a suitable spot under the trees! (Bliss!). Bells Farm sessions are currently being confirmed.

 

Accessibility & "Pay What You Feel"

Keeping my offerings accessible is incredibly important to me, for our Forest sessions, you will now see a "Pay What You Can" (PWYC) ticket option alongside general admission. If financial barriers are a concern, please use this option to pay what is sustainable for you.

 

EVENT CHANGES

Currently moving through a period of illness I've had to put many things on hold and move back events, I'm also looking ahead in my schedule and have had to move a few things around. I'm going away to do photography for a retreat in Portugal so will also be away from the 25th June - 2nd July which means anything booked over this time has had to be changed.

Celebrate the summer with Victoria under the blue skies and lush green canopy of Arley Arboretum. This is a very special outdoor sound bath session bringing together the peak of the sun's energy and sound. Come and unwind with the birdsong and the vibrant elements of nature with the sounds of crystal singing bowls, alchemy bowls, gong, chimes and guided meditation.

 

Here, you can fully embrace a restful practice, lying down to soak in the midsummer surroundings while being guided into a profound state of relaxation. Feel the body relax and enjoy creating space within your life, sound baths not only reduce stress but can aid in deep sleep and mental clarity.

WILD GARLIC PESTO


A seriously simple and light dish that will keep you coming back for more, wonderful hot and cold and great for spring/summer days. Always remember, keep it simple and allow the natural flavours to enhance the dish, buy fresh and where you can buy organic! In this recipe you're getting a pesto pasta dish but you can actually use the 'separate' little dips for other things to! The white cabbage and mint topping works SO well in Buddha bowls, mix it up and enjoy

TEA CEREMONY & SOUND JOURNEY

Explore the medicine of our native Plant Spirits through Tea, Ceremony & Sound.

In June, we will be connecting with Mugwort, revered across these lands as a guide of intuition, dreaming, and protection. A medicine of the liminal, opening pathways between the seen and unseen, illuminating inner vision, and helping us navigate the thresholds of our own transformation. It whispers us back into our instincts, our ancestral memory, and the deep feminine currents that run beneath everyday consciousness.

FOREST SOUND BATHS

Sunday 17th May 6.45-8.00pm


Watch the swaying trees, hear the birds sing and be guided into the most beautiful cocoon of relaxation and rest. This is a sound bath only session where participants lie (or sit) comfortably with blankets, cushions and personal comforts for the full duration. Enjoy a seasonal guided meditation at the beginning of the practice allowing the mind to unravel any busy thoughts, and notice that the body soon follows, and with gentle permission, you can rest. Enjoy the sounds of crystal singing bowls, tibetan bowls, gong, rain stick & chimes. This is a gentle journey that helps soothe physical and emotional tension. Gently releasing the grip of stress and anxiety, these sessions will help you to find more clarity, space and quality of rest and sleep.





RELAXATION YOGA & SOUND BATHS

Sunday 17th May 5.00-6.15pm


This monthly session is designed to be the perfect practice to unwind after a busy week, calm the mind and soothe aches & tension within the body. This is a session with a physical yoga practice (think lazy, slow, heavy) where we combine practices of restorative yoga, somatic movement & deep guided relaxation sound bath. A combined practice like no other, all set within the indoor space with the gorgeous Wyre Forest as its backdrop. Enjoy the sounds of crystal singing bowls as you move, rest & release.

While being away in wales I've made so many new pieces and love them all so much, Im going back to basics with natural materials and will be sharing some new pieces with antlers (gotta slice them) and hide (from Sally Smiles drum birthing remnants). Honouring the earth, the healing of crystals and the beauty of uniqueness. Here you can move through a free flowing yoga practice, building stamina, resilience and aiding deep flexibility throughout the whole body. This is a strong continuous flow practice so if you like creative yoga flows that keep you moving this is for you.

AFFIRMATIONS


Affirmations can be powerful, the affirmations for this months love letter I want you to read out loud to yourself, whisper in your mind, write on a post it note, even save it as your morning alarm! As we recognise meditation helps us to observe the mind, we can hopefully begin to notice our mindset, anxieties, emotional recycling. Affirmations are one of the best ways to help you upload positive mental energy to your body and brain. They have the power to change your outlook on life and can increase self awareness and happiness. 

So, repeat after me...
