Turmeric Porridge

Good Morning!


I've created a recipe for your favourite Porridge pot that is so versatile and you will never get bored of it. Yes my portions are HUGE! This recipe is for 2 people... with a good large serving for each person. We eat porridge twice a day, and Gus absolutely loves to get included with all the added extra's. Its a meal that will keep you full for hours and has so much goodness packed into it.


INGREDIENTS:


x2 cups organic oats (we love Flahavan's!)

x4 cups cold water


x1 tsp turmeric powder (we use Naturya superblend)

x1 1/4 cinnamon powder


x2 tbsp shelled hemp seeds (I cannot stress


enough, make sure they're SHELLED!)

x3 tbsp ground flaxseed, sunflower, pumpkin mix (We use Linwoods, click here to view)

x3 tbsp agave nectar or your choice of sweetener, golden syrup, maple syrup!


* x11 chopped dates


 

RECIPE:

  1. Add the oats to a saucepan along with the cold water.

  2. Bring to a very low heat and stir through


allowing the water and oats to mix. (This is a recipe not to be rushed)

  1. Before the water gets absorbed stir through the turmeric and cinnamon.

  2. Leave to simmer for a few minutes but continue to stir!

  3. As its starts to thicken add the hemp seeds, the flax mix and sweetener.

  4. Add a little more water if needed and add the dates at the last minute.

  5. Your mixture should be thick and creamy!


*This is the added extra that you can change day by day. We mix it up between raisins or dates. Chopped apple with extra cinnamon. Banana slices with goji berries, blueberries and pecans. The possibilities are endless!
