Apple & Cinnamon Breakfast Quinoa

A deliciously light breakfast meal FULL of goodness! Its packed full of protein, fibre, manganese, phosphorus, copper, magnesium, iron, zinc & potassium, all in this tiny grain? Its becomes a great substitute for cereals and can even be mixed through a salad. It has a relatively bland flavour but as soon as you start throwing in your ingredients it becomes a wonderful foundation for many meals. This is Gus favourite and he actually made this one this morning!


INGREDIENTS

x1/2 cup Quinoa

x1 cup hot water

x1 Handful Raisins

x1 tbsp agave nectar

x 1/4 tsp maca powder

x 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder


x1 chopped apple


+ Steamer for Quinoa!


RECIPE

  1. Place the Quinoa & hot water in the steamer and cook for 20 minutes. (If you have your preferred way of cooking this go for it!)

  2. Once cooked allow to cool a little and add the maca & cinnamon powders and stir through.

  3. Finely chop the apples (blueberries are amazing in this to) and add them to the mix.

  4. Stir through your agave, you may want more but remember the apple and raisins will add natural sweetness too!

  5. Add your raisins and stir through and you are ready to enjoy!



And just like that, in 5 simple steps you have a brand new breakfast recipe to enjoy that is full of goodness. You can mix it up by adding blueberries, nuts, sliced banana and even a sprinkle of turmeric.
