AUGUST
Welcoming August with a big deep breath in and a big hearty sigh out. Let the shoulders drop, feel your feet land on the soil and let the heat of July softly drift into the breeze and lets enjoy the days of August with more space. For me August is a time where I do less, consciously making the effort to slow right down, enjoying nature (as always!) without the need to have a timeframe of structure. I love having slow evenings with my boys in the fields when I'm not teaching, and creating that time for self care is ever more potent. To create balance we have to slow down and for me this time of year is a time where I implement it, I sew new seeds for August, I reflect, I prep and plan my end of year so the seasonal transitions maintain there smooth flow. Its going to be a gorgeous month, I can already feel it!
Here you can find everything about what's upcoming, what inspires me and I hope we can connect very soon, sending you lots of love!
August marks our entry into the rich late summer, a lush, sensory explosion of mature heat and golden light. The initial surge of mid-summer gives way to a heavy, grounded abundance, the fields are ripe, the days are long and baked in warmth, the earth is alive with the quiet, lingering energy of the season’s peak. This month, our yoga practice shifts from the effort of growing to the profound necessity of seasonal deep rest and integration. We aren't just basking in the fiery warmth of late summer; we are learning how to create a cool, internal sanctuary to balance the intense energy of nature.
Cooling the Fire
We are now moving through the peak of the light half of the year. The initial push of the solstice has settled into a deep, radiating heat that can easily overstimulate the system. In August, our practice is about intelligent cooling and grounding. We honour the abundance around us, but we actively learn to balance the external late-summer heat with slow, restorative pauses. Our sequences prioritize spaciousness, fluid movements and gentle postures designed to release excess heat from the body and soothe the nervous system, inviting a deep rest that replenishes our inner reserves before the coming autumn.
Soothing the Heart Meridian
In seasonal wellness, late summer belongs to the Fire and Earth elements, connecting the Heart and Spleen meridians. If the earlier months were about outward expansion, August is about emotional spaciousness, joy, integration, and protective boundaries. By focusing on opening the chest, shoulders, and heart space, we clear away agitation and cultivate a steady, peaceful inner quiet. Our practice invites us to cool the fiery nature of the mind, realizing that the true power of the heart lies not in constant doing, but in its ability to remain calm, soft, and anchored amidst the summer sun.
Harmonizing with the Earth's Pulse
We synchronize with this natural rhythm not by striving, but by bringing a sense of effortless surrender to our mats. Our practice becomes a moving meditation of ease, less about generating heat or forcing structure, more about a fluid, grounding dance. We mimic the resilience of the late-summer landscape: fully bloomed, rich, yet resting deeply in the shade of our own awareness, unwavering in our inner peace.
Join me this August as we celebrate the magnificent richness of late summer, moving with gratitude, balancing the heat and stepping into the nurturing sanctuary of seasonal rest.

Self Care Sunday Returns to the Wyre Forest!!
My Self Care Sessions are returning to their home in the Wyre Forest, having had to make amendments for the next 3 months due to event clashes and availability in Worcester, I've decided to bring it back and it's here to stay for the foreseeable. I've loved sharing at The Fold, Bransford, it's been such a gorgeous space to offer in and to have met and connected with new faces has been very special. I hope we continue to stay connected and you can join me in the forest space in the future!
Accessibility & Pay What You Can tickets
Keeping my offerings accessible is incredibly important to me, for my Yoga & Sound, and Forest Sound Bath events you will find a "Pay What You Can" (PWYC) ticket option alongside general admission, if financial barriers are a concern, please use this option to pay what you feel is suitable for you.
Monthly Ashtanga Classes
I'm so excited to be bringing Ashtanga to you all again, over the years Ive shared Ashtanga yoga classes and dotted it in my weekly schedule but feel I want to give it all the love it deserves, I'll be sharing a guided Ashtanga class monthly Fridays 7.30-9.00pm and the first is on September 11th! This session is shared at the Wyre Forest Leisure Centre* in the studio. We have ample time for full guidance, layers, optional adjustments & posture breakdowns and I want to make this a session to dedicate your heart, body & mind to the discipline of Ashtanga. This is a very strong practice that is continuous flow, so not suitable for complete beginners, that being said I will layer and modify the practice to suit all abilities.
*Please take note it is NOT part of the membership, booking are seperate through my website as I am hiring the space.
- REFLECTIONS OF JULY
Where do I begin, July was truly abundant and filled to the brim with so many gorgeous offerings, adventures, time away on holidays and gave me glimmers into how I want to align and move forwards towards Autumn. I absolutely love setting my intentions for the new month ahead but this can only come from ample time of sitting in self reflection and inquiry from the month before. I feel that through July I was propelled with so much energy, had highs, had lows, had questions, had breakthroughs and this month feels like a big breath of fresh air! There is ease, soft sunlight and a chance to surrender into a slower pace.
Pembrokeshire - Slow living
After choosing to cancel my photography job in portugal it opened up 3 opportunities to go away, myself and Will haven't been away together to Pembrokeshire since last year (II think!) so to be able to go and visit one of our favourite places was really special. we walked miles and miles, days into evenings, lay on the beach for hours, read our books and did very little else. Really slowing down this time was just what we needed.
Kefalonia - Anxiety and alignment
The same hour I cancelled my trip to portugal I booked a week away for me and Gus in Kefalonia, and just like that, my intuition and ruminating feeling over where my priorities lay allowed me to feel proud that I had made the right choice, I was excited instead of questioning, I aligned with something so close to my heart and was over the moon to go away with my boy again! We travelled around the whole island, north, south, east, west and my dad came out with us for a few days. Honestly these moments I will not forget and putting myself first to prioritise making these beautiful memories continues to make me strive for more. The next trips I am dreaming up are France, Italy and sacred sites where I can get the train too, Im sure Gus would love a sleeper train adventure too!
Wild Woman Retreat Day - Sharing in sisterhood
Our Wild Woman day at the beginning of July was a dream! It was a transformative journey and to sit beside my close friends Sally & Jo as we held space was very special. The day unravelled with so many modalities and to witness each participant release their shoulders, to have the courage to show up, to speak and to feel is something I will never take for granted. It's a reminder why these spaces are so precious and should be protected, that when we come together the potency of healing is bigger than we can imagine. We are very excited to share we will be coming back together again in December for our Winter addition!
Teaching at World Yoga Festival - Pinch me moments
I cannot quite believe this is something I can say! I was given the opportunity to share at World Yoga Festival, on their 10 year anniversary, and my goodness, it was amazing. This festival we have attended many times and to say the teachers are 'up there' is something else. This festival is a gathering known over Europe and they bring so many incredible teachers from all over the world to be a part of it. I feel so so grateful to have been asked to share my offerings and loved every single moment!! I hope to return next year and embrace all the energy again!
Sacred Well - Stepping into a new layer
On the full moon in Aquarius myself and the lovely Lottie travelled to visit a Sacred Well in the forest of dean, this is something we have planned but not set in stone a few months before, when we realised the date we were visiting was one of the most powerful astrological days we laughed our heads of "of course we visited today"! We took flowers and crystals and sat by the well for hours, we dipped, created new intentions and soaked up the opportunity to be within nature in all her glory.

YOGA & SOUND HEALING
In a world that’s constantly asking us to move faster and push harder, taking time to move with intention is a sacred act of returning to ourselves.
When we pair the fluid motion of a yoga practice with the immersive vibrations of Sound Healing, we create a space to move mindfully, soften tension and tune back in. Together, these practices offer a transformative journey home to your body, mind and spirit, leaving you feeling deeply grounded, nourished and re-aligned.
The Forest Yoga & Sound Bath sessions are an invitation to step out of the busy pace of life and step into your body. It’s a soulful, deliberate practice centered around mindful movement, intuitive sequencing and conscious breathing. Unlike fast-paced flows where you rush from shape to shape, this practice asks you to linger in the transitions, feel every breath and truly inhabit each pose. By slowing down the pace, we give the mind space to quiet down and the body time to open safely and deeply.

WILDLOVE COMMUNITY GROUP
Some of you may have already seen the group page I have created on the website, this is a private group for those who join me for events, classes, workshops etc and want to stay in the loop as a community. I know quite a lot of people are moving away from socials so this is also a place where you can find updates and keep in touch with me directly. I hope to see you in there!

FOREST SOUND BATH
Sunday 23rd August 1.30-2.45pm
Watch the swaying trees, hear the birds sing and be guided into the most beautiful cocoon of relaxation and rest. This is a sound bath only session where participants lie (or sit) comfortably with blankets, cushions and personal comforts for the full duration. Enjoy a seasonal guided meditation at the beginning of the practice allowing the mind to unravel any busy thoughts, and notice that the body soon follows, and with gentle permission, you can rest. Enjoy the sounds of crystal singing bowls, tibetan bowls, gong, rain stick & chimes. This is a gentle journey that helps soothe physical and emotional tension. Gently releasing the grip of stress and anxiety, these sessions will help you to find more clarity, space and quality of rest and sleep.

REIKI HEALING & SOUND BATH
Sunday 20th Sept 2026, 1.30 – 3:00
You heard it here first! Myself & Lottie from Fern & Clay will be collaborating again in September, we will be holding space in the Wyre Forest Discovery Centre and weaving reiki healing & sound bathing together. This is a deeply restorative session where you can rest, receive and completely rebalance as we begin to settle in the whispers of Autumn air.

This is a flow practice where you MOVE around, take up space and even allow some big heavy sighs to release from your heart.

AFFIRMATIONS
Affirmations can be powerful, the affirmations for this months love letter I want you to read out loud to yourself, whisper in your mind, write on a post it note, even save it as your morning alarm! As we recognise meditation helps us to observe the mind, we can hopefully begin to notice our mindset, anxieties, emotional recycling. Affirmations are one of the best ways to help you upload positive mental energy to your body and brain. They have the power to change your outlook on life and can increase self awareness and happiness.
So, repeat after me...

I hope this love letter inspires you this month, feel free to come back to it anytime and enjoy listening, moving and creating with intention. It's so lovely to have you within the Wildlove Community, I hope to see you very soon!
All my love, V x
